Behind the letterforms
What is the Gothic Unicode alphabet?
These letters belong to Unicodeโs Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols and Letterlike Symbols blocks. The gothic look is part of the character itself, so it can travel with your text when you paste it.
Classic and bold Fraktur
Classic Fraktur and bold Fraktur are distinct character sets. The decorated styles in our generator add ornaments around those same letters. They do not create new alphabets.
Why some classic capitals have different code points
Classic C, H, I, R, and Z use โญ, โ, โ, โ, and โจ from Unicodeโs Letterlike Symbols block. These are the corresponding blackletter characters, rather than missing letters in the generator.
Numbers and accented letters
There is no corresponding Fraktur digit set. Our text generator preserves numbers, punctuation, accented letters, emoji, and non-Latin scripts. For styled dates or a specific typeface, try the real fonts in the lettering studio.
Readability and accessibility
Decorative Unicode can be harder to search for and may be read unexpectedly by assistive technology. Keep essential information in ordinary text, and use gothic lettering for short, expressive details.

How to copy individual Gothic letters
Choose an alphabet
Select Classic Fraktur for a lighter form or Bold Gothic for a heavier one. The grid updates both uppercase and lowercase letters together.
Select a character

Is this the alphabet of the Gothic language?
No. This page shows Latin AโZ letters in Unicode Fraktur and bold Fraktur styles. It is a lettering reference, not a reference for the separate historical Gothic language or its writing system.
How can I copy a complete Gothic word or alphabet?
The tiles copy one uppercase or lowercase character at a time. To convert a full word or a line such as ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ, enter it in the Gothic text generator and copy one result.
Why is a copied Gothic letter showing as a square?
A square can mean that the receiving device or app lacks a font for that character. Try the other alphabet or ordinary letters. For a fixed visual appearance, make a PNG in the lettering studio.
Does the Gothic alphabet include matching numbers?
Unicode does not provide a corresponding Fraktur digit set. This converter keeps 0โ9, punctuation, accented letters, emoji, and other scripts as entered instead of substituting unrelated decorative characters.
Are Gothic Unicode letters suitable for long or essential text?
Use them sparingly. Search, screen readers, and app validation can treat these characters differently from ordinary Latin text. Keep instructions, contact details, and other essential information in plain text.
